ANXIETY:

So many of us are living with generaly anxiety day in and day out for many different reasons. The reasons can be as simple and pervasive as the multitde of demands of our modern day lives or because of life transitions, work stress, relationship stress, financial stress, or even past trauma. etc.

It can be said that anxiety is a low grade fear.  Generally, there are three responses to fear: fight, flight and freeze. If we are in any one of these states on an ongoing basis, even on a low level, it can wreak havoc on our minds, bodies and spirit.

In therapy we explore how your anxiety shows up and the unique way that you relate to it.  In addition, using a psycho-spiritual orientation, I will share tools tailored to your specific needs that you can use in your daily life to help manage anxiety, as your connection to yourself and life deepens.

RELATIONSHIP ISSUES:

Healing unheatlhy realtionship patterns inevitably leads to creating a relationship with yourself in which you begin to value YOU.  This includes learning to uncover and value your wants, needs, desires and dreams both within the relationship and outside of it. Learning to value ourselves to a greater degree naturally leads to healthier more fulfilling relationships with others 100% of the time.

FOOD/WEIGHT RELATED ISSUES:

I work with men and women who are ready to heal their issues with food and body image. Food and body image issues are never about the food.

Some of the common underlying issues are:

  • Setting high standards for one's self
  • Self esteem issues
  • A sense of emptiness, loneliness, or worthlessness
  • Feeling a lack of control in life, or in being able to control feelings
  • Trouble expressing feelings and emotions and identifying wants and needs
  • Family problems and troubled relationships
  • History of past or present trauma

I teach effective experiential techniques that support clients in connecting to the feelings held in the body that after years of basic "talk therapy" finally helped me heal my struggle with Bulimia. I have committed my life's work to sharing these techniques with others. You deserve to live your best life and express the truth of who you really are!

DEPRESSION:

Depression is an illness and can be successfully treated!
People who deal with depression are suffering tremendously on the inside. Sadness is a "normal" feeling. Hopelessness, worthlessness, lack of pleasure or feeling like a "bad" person are not, this is depression.

If you are experiencing depression, you have been navigating the world in a way that is not reflective of your true self. This is not your fault, and there are good reasons why you have learned to do this. Through your process in therapy, you will learn how to tune into your highest self. This will facilitate your ability to manage and ultimately heal your depression so you can live the life you were meant to live.

COUPLES WORK:

When working with couples, I view challenges in relationships as a natural part of being close with another person and as an opportunity for growth and learning. Viewing relationship challenges from this perspective allows couples to see "problems" as opportunities rather than as an indication that something is "wrong". A byproduct of working through issues from this perspective is an increased sense of intimacy, trust, compassion and love within the relationship.

I have extensive experience working with all types of couples and am highly skilled in teaching clients the tools necessary to create their ideal relationship. You deserve to have the relationship of your dreams.

LGBTQ:

One of my areas of specialization is working with the LGBTQ community. While I am well versed in issues relevant to this community such as: feeling marginalized by society, challenges related to coming out, relationship and family issues, I am also aware that the reasons for seeking treatment may have nothing to do with these specific concerns.
